Why we exist

Grant agreements in Hong Kong often run longer than the staff who first signed them. Budgets are revised, programme officers change, and cost codes drift. Dataapiconnect was formed to give finance teams an independent reading of whether spending still matches the agreement — without waiting for a funder’s auditors to discover the gap.

How we work

We treat the funding agreement as the primary text. Every observation cites a clause, schedule, or circular. We sample with risk in mind: large one-off payments, related-party invoices, and costs near category caps receive more attention than routine stationery lines.

Fieldwork happens where the evidence lives. When ledgers, contracts, and stamped invoices still sit in Central filing rooms, we work on-site at St. George’s Building or at your offices by arrangement. When your finance system already holds a complete trail, we work from secure document transfers and scheduled calls.

Who you meet

Reviews are led by practitioners with backgrounds in grant accounting, NGO finance, and external examination of funded programmes. We do not sell software, bookkeeping retainers, or statutory audit opinions. Our deliverable is a findings pack your board can use.

Relationship to clients

Most clients return when a new grant opens or a mid-term report approaches. We keep engagement letters narrow so each review stands on its own evidence, not on informal knowledge of your organisation.
