Refund Policy

This policy applies to professional engagements with Dataapiconnect for grant spending compliance reviews, pre-disbursement checks, funder audit preparation, and eligible-cost advisory sessions. It does not cover goods, subscriptions, or online checkouts — we do not sell those.

Eligibility

Refunds are considered against deposits and fees paid under a signed engagement letter. Website fee guidance is informational; only amounts invoiced under an engagement are in scope.

Timeframe

Cancellation or refund requests should be sent in writing to info@dataapiconnect.digital as soon as practicable, and no later than the timelines below relative to the agreed start date or session date.

Full refund

  • Advisory sessions: Cancel at least five business days before the session for a full refund of fees paid for that session.
  • Reviews and preparation engagements: Cancel at least ten business days before the scheduled fieldwork start, and before meaningful document testing has begun, for a full refund of the deposit and any prepaid fees.

Partial refund

  • If you cancel inside the windows above but before delivery of a final pack, we may refund fees net of work already performed, documented at our standard daily rates stated in the engagement letter.
  • If draft findings have been issued, fees for completed phases are non-refundable; unused later phases may be refunded proportionally.

Non-refundable items

  • Fees for work already performed (intake completed, sample selected, fieldwork days delivered, draft or final packs issued)
  • Third-party costs reasonably incurred with your prior approval (for example, courier of paper files)
  • Engagements terminated for material breach of client obligations (including failure to provide agreed access after repeated notice)

Deposits

Deposits secure calendar time. They are credited to the final invoice. Deposits become non-refundable once fieldwork has started or when cancellation falls inside the notice windows above, except where we cancel the engagement.

Rescheduling and no-shows

  • One reschedule with at least five business days’ notice is usually accepted without extra charge, subject to diary availability.
  • Shorter-notice reschedules may incur a rescheduling fee of up to 15% of the engagement fee.
  • Failure to attend an agreed advisory session without notice is treated as a completed session for fee purposes.

Work already started

Once document testing or on-site fieldwork begins, fees for that phase are due. You remain entitled to materials produced for completed phases (for example, a partial findings note) as described in the engagement letter.

Refund process and timing

Email info@dataapiconnect.digital with the engagement reference, payment date, and reason. We confirm eligibility within five business days. Approved refunds are processed within fourteen business days to the original payment method where possible.

Method

Refunds are made by bank transfer or the original card/channel used. Currency is Hong Kong dollars unless the engagement letter states otherwise.

Our cancellation

If we must cancel for reasons within our control, you may choose a full refund of amounts paid for undelivered work or a rescheduled date at no extra fee.
